Don Julio Tequila was named  after its founder, Don Julio González-Frausto Estrada, he began making tequila in 1942 at age 17. With a lot of hard work and sacrifice Gonzalez-Frausto was able to open  his own distillery, La Primavera. He worked there for the next 40 years improving his craft. He experimented with perfected  various aspects of the tequila-making process, "from growing agave to the bottling of the final product." He called his distillery La Primavera (the Springtime) where he started his first brand Tres Magueyes(really great sipping tequila). Today Don Julio is considered one of the best tequilas in the world.  May or may not have box

This well aged spirit sets a very high bar for both aroma and flavor.  On the nose you will get toasted oak, vanilla, orange, honey and chocolate sweetness.  On the palate, you will experience bold and sweet dark fruit and oak notes.  It gives you a lingering finish as the oak notes slowly fade out.
